Hello NYEBN Community Members,
A lot of exciting news to announce in this week's newsletter. Fasten your seat belt. Let's get ready for the ride! NY Business Expo Video Series We have been hard at work preparing NY Business Expo 2012 that’s coming in November. We want to find a way to document our progress and feature some great speakers, mentors and sponsors prior to the event. The best method to accomplish this seems to be starting an expo video series. Last Friday (August 3), we were finally able to execute this idea – a sneak preview of what , one of the expo speakers, will be speaking about for his seminar on November 15. Check it out at http://ranwong.com/20... ![]() We've got our own video production crew for this project. We'll be sure to roll out new videos consistently in the coming months. August Special Discount for Expo Exhibitors If you missed July's Early Bird deadline, here is your chance to SAVE for exhibiting at the expo. Well, we'd like to address your concerns from eight angles - Attendees, Format, Education, Mentoring, Press, Networking, Location and Host. If you have a few minutes, read our answers here at http://www.nybusiness... ![]() New Expo Speaker Avi Fogel Avi was recommended to my by Bob Dorf, because Bob is impressed with a talk that Avi had previously given to his Columbia University class. After conversing with Avi, I am fascinated by his knowledge about angel investing too. So I invited Avi to do a talk at the expo. In this talk, Avi will cover the differences between angel investing and VC investing, the math that drives the two, the differences in the way these two sources of funding operate, Early Exits and why they matter, the Angel investing universe in North America, what does an organized angel group, like NY Angels, look for and term sheets used by angel and key factors in those terms sheets. If you are an early stage startup guy, you can't afford to miss this. Ticket price is $15 per person and it's in short supply. Grab your ticket here today or you can spend $100 to attend all 32 seminars at the expo here. Announcing Four New Mentors for Startup Central All new mentors here are entrepreneurs.
