Some members have mentioned to me about spam issues. This is a tutorial on how to use the group privacy settings to help you control who can contact you and what types of messages can get delivered to you.
1). Create a mail filtering rule in your email program for NYEBN emails If you do not prefer to receive my email updates on future events, here is a function you might consider using. A filtering rule allows you to better manage messages in your inbox. That way, you'll still get the emails, but you can have them routed to their own mail folder or archive them directly. That can be really helpful, as they won't take up all the space in your Inbox and you can read through them at your leisure. To access this function, just find the last email you received from me, scroll up to the top of the email, and find "The Mailing List" section where it says "Filter messages from this mailing list." Then you can take it from there. Note: Do make sure you check back to our site periodically so you won't miss out any events. 2). Change the email address in your Meetup account to a different one. You could create a new email address specifically for NY Entrepreneurs Business Network. Then change the address in your Meetup account to that new email address. Some members find that it's easier to keep track of their Meetups, contacts, etc. when the messages are separate from their other activities. To change your email account 1. Go to http://www.ny-entrepr... and make sure you're signed into your Account 2. Click 'Account' (top right of page) 3. Update Your Email Address 4. Click 'SAVE' 3). Update your communication options with other members from our group In addition to the mailing list, members can contact one another individually either by private emails or posting greetings on each other's profiles. You may want to limit who has access to those options. A. To set who can send you email messages: 1. Go to http://www.ny-entrepr... and make sure you're signed into your Meetup Account 2. Click 'Account' (top right of page) 3. Click 'Membership and Communications' 4. In the 'Privacy' section, select who can contact you on the site 5. Click 'SAVE' B. To change who can post greetings to your profile: 1. Go to http://www.ny-entrepr... and make sure you're signed into your Meetup Account 2. Click "Account" at the top right of page 3. Click "Membership and Communications" 4. In the "Privacy" section, select who can post greetings to your profile 5. Click "SAVE" These tips and tools should help you save some time by not getting unwanted emails and increase your productivity.
