1. We just announced the Expo after parties on 11/14 and 11/15
![]() We have just announced the after hour parties for this year's NY Business Expo (in Association with NYEBN). Our host will be Alley NYC, a new co-working space located not far from Armory, where we host our day sessions. Alley NYC features a 16,000 square foot space and currently is the home of over 50 companies. If you missed any Small Business Classroom or Startup Central sessions during the day, the after hour parties would be where you catch up with our mentors, speakers and exhibitors. Before he sold his company to Zynga, he was CEO of OMGPOP, the creator of Draw Something, the fastest growing mobile app in the history of mobile. The game hit 1 million users in 9 days and 50 million users in 50 days. Prior to OMGPOP, Dan was the SVP Corporate Development for Richard Branson and The Virgin Group in North America where he led investments and sat on a number of Boards of Virgin Companies. Dan was also President of TicketWeb, the first online ticketing company, which he sold to Ticketmaster CitySearch. Before getting into business, Dan was a founder and President of Teach For America, launched some of the first Charter schools in NYC and was a public school teacher in Brooklyn Dan has a BA from Princeton University, an MA in Latin American Studies from NYU and lives in Brooklyn with his wife, kids, various pets and guitar. He is also active in First Growth Network, TechStars and is the founder of Inside Startups.
