Hi Folks,

During this past weekend, I wrote about the partnership between StartEngine and NYEBN to make their demo day part of NY Business Expo 2012. I also wrote about what this means to the entrepreneurs and startups that plan on attending the expo in a separate post. There seems to be a lot to cover in this week's newsletter. Let's get to it!

StartEngine Demo Day

It has been our dream to organize an event that is gaining participations by companies of both large and small and entrepreneurs from east to west coast. NY Business Expo 2012 (in Association with NYEBN) is that dream come true.

StartEngine Demo Day is a special component that involves StartEngine, the largest startup accelerator in LA, flying their startups out to New York to showcase their disruptive technologies to the New York investors.

While the show proves to be a highly valuable platform for the StartEngine startups, the fact that the Demo Day will be included as a part of NY Business Expo can provide great value to New York startup ecosystem as a whole. The benefits are mutual. This partnership will be highly beneficial to expo attendees and exhibitors as well because it means there will be a whole lot more quality people and companies you can meet at the expo. To see which startups will be demo'ing, click here.

Win a Comp Ticket to Our Conference

The 2012 NY Business Expo (in Association with NYEBN) is unique in that it has a stand-alone conference component, aka Small Business Classroom, including 30+ 45-minute seminars featuring world renowned speakers from a variety of industries. Small Business Classroom offers excellent resources to help business owners become more skillful with social media, technology, sales and marketing tactics, etc.

Considering that a lot of entrepreneurs are still bootstrapping, we’ve designed a system that lets attendees earn comp tickets to our conference. Here is how it works.

Please note we’ll pick one winner on Facebook and one winner on Twitter by 6 PM EST this Friday, September 14th. We look forward to your tweets and Facebook comments!

If you’re a student and would like to attend, just send copies of your photo ID and student ID to .

NYEBN Community on Kohort

I was invited to the Kohort HQ to test out their new product last Friday. I've known Mark for a long time and would be willing to give him suggestions and support anytime. Overall, Kohort product has a lot of potential since it just begins to roll out many new features. I've reserved the domain kohort.com/nyebn for our community members. Come join our group on Kohort when you get two seconds. We will soon be able to organize some of our events there too!
