Hey Folks,

Hope you all had a good Labor Day weekend! We are announcing our early exhibitors at NY Business Expo. You can check the full list of almost 50 exhibitors at http://nybusinessexpo.... We're picking three startups to profile today. I have personally checked out their products. They are really cool!

Early Exhibitors

bMobilized pioneered automatic website mobilization. The global company offers businesses the ability to instantly and inexpensively convert their desktop website into an HTML5-enabled mobile experience optimized for every device, OS or browser. And at bMobilized, simplicity doesn’t come at the expense of flexibility. Using the industry’s most advanced set of tools, businesses can engage their growing mobile customer base with a high-quality, fully-branded experience.

It's pretty awesome. I played around with it and tried to load nyebn.com using their simulator. And here is what I got.

The Stamford Innovation Center is built to serve one mission: Accelerating the Entrepreneur's Voyage. Its vision is to create a physical location to support the growing and diverse group of start-ups that are sprouting up all over Southwestern CT. Its sole objective is to create an environment where entrepreneurs can tap into the deep Expertise, enthusiastic Talent, proven Service Providers and experienced angel and VC Investors that live and work in our part of the world.

In other words, its mission is almost aligning too well with what we are trying to accomplish with NY Business Expo for New York's entrepreneur ecosystem. We're glad they can join the New York crowd at NY Business Expo 2012.

Bluff Works makes apparel that fuels an active life. It's best known for a line of men's pants that can go days without washing or ironing. Its clothing is designed to look great in the office, yet be ready for adventure anytime. Stefan Loble, the founder, started in 2012 with a highly successful kicksarter campaign, and it was rapidly expanding beyond pants to other apparel. Stefan was also profiled as one of the Kickstarter experts at a NYEBN event.

iLounge

Over the Labor Day weekend, we launched a new floor plan that incorporated the "iLounge" concept into November's show. Depending on what you're there for, you can either interpret the "i" as "Internet" or "interactive." For example, if you're stopping by the iLounge to chat with others, you're more likely to use it as an interactive lounge. If you're there to check emails on one of the computers, of course, it makes more sense to call it an Internet lounge. Following me?

You can download the new floor plan here. Note that we added six 8'x10' booths by the front entrence (#1 - #3 & #174 - #176). The positions are great for those. So if your company wants to order any of them, do it now.

New September Special

We launched our September special: 5% off the regular price for any booth of any size. Note although we have monthly specials, the discount is generally becoming less and less as the Expo date draws close. Besides, booths with good locations typically are gone fast. Therefore, if you think our 2012 Expo can add value to your company's growth, act sooner rather than later:) We like working with startups and small businesses at NYEBN. Weekly Profiles

Bob Dorf is often called the "midwife of Customer Development", helping Steve Blank deploy it when Blank's eight startup, E.piphany, opened its doors with five employees in 1996. Dorf later critiqued the earliest versions of Steve's Four Steps to the Epiphany mercilessly along the way, and they've been friends and colleagues ever since. In March, 2012, along with Steve Blank, Bob published The Startup Owner's Manual: a step-by-step guide to Building a Great Company, two years in nearly-fulltime research and development. The 500-page, painstakingly detailed guide is much more than update of Blank's groundbreaking Four Steps, with parallel Customer Development pathways for companies in the web and mobile channels, as well as traditional physical goods and enterprise software startups, and web and channel marketing tutorials.
