Leonora Valvo Bio
Ask life-long entrepreneur Leonora Valvo, CEO and Founder of etouches, her pet peeves and she might tell you: sleep, primetime television, and people or organizations reluctant to embrace technology that can make their lives easier and more productive.
If she’s not skydiving at 30,000 feet or learning to sail, she’s probably creating a new company. She has launched four successful ones in the travel and meetings industry, the most recent being etouches, a Software as a Service (SaaS) provider of online event registration and management software that early in 2010 landed its initial round of venture capital funding. The company – and product – was formed as an offshoot of an earlier venture, Global Executive, founded in 1998 as an event planning, logistics and management company that developed the etouches technology to serve its client base at the time. etouches is based in Ridgefield, CT, with offices in Washington, Minneapolis, the U.K., Sweden and Australia.
Prior to that, she launched Options, a consulting business to help corporations formulate innovative and best-practice solutions for post-deregulation travel management. Along the way, she has been recognized by Trade Show Executive with their prestigious “Innovation Award,” by The Financial Times as one of the industry’s “Women at the Top,” and by INC. magazine which named etouches one of the Fastest Growing Service Companies in the America. Most recently, she accepted the award for etouches at the MTO Summit as Trade Show News Network’s Top Event Technology Innovator for 2010. Visit www.etouches.com.
