We see more and more brilliant startup entrepreneurs in Silicon Alley today. Ironically, rarely can entrepreneurs be able to bootstrap a startup to its success without outside fundings from VCs, Angels, or family/friends. NYEBN Startup Pitch Series is a monthly recurring event which is designed to build the bridge between startups and VCs. Of course, for those of you who enjoy doing startups and innovating, this is a must-attend event each month.

10% of all proceeds goes to the PKD Foundation. 100% refundable if you're not satisfied with the event. $15 prepay online or $25 at the door.

5 Startups are all early-stage. The review panel consists of VCs and serial entrepreneurs. Each startup is given 15 minutes (5-minute pitch, 5-minute Q&A w/ VCs, 5-minute Q&A w/ Audience). Location and time of the event is subject to change. Here is the event schedule:

Geoff Schneider

Geoff founded Cava Capital based on the idea that entrepreneurial experience is essential to being a great investor in start-ups. Geoff has more than 20 years of operational and leadership experience with a range of companies in consumer marketing and media, technology products and services, information services and Internet marketing. Mr. Schneider has helped build over twenty venture-funded businesses into viable high growth enterprises, been instrumental in the raising of millions of dollars of venture capital, worked with many companies as advisor and investor and sat on several boards of directors at various stages of company growth. Michael Robertson

Michael Robertson is an accomplished technology entrepreneur with a consistent track record of identifying promising trends often in disruptive sectors, building pioneering companies, and leading them to profitability and acquisition. Over his career he has raised more than $100 million in private capital and orchestrated transactions with a combined value of nearly a billion dollars. His technical and operational expertise has spanned industries as diverse as digital music, VOIP and Linux with notable companies including MP3.com, Linspire and Gizmo5. Mark Davis

Mark is currently the CEO of a stealth startup in NYC. Before jumping into his latest venture, he was an IT-focused Venture Capitalist at DFJ Gotham Ventures. Mark is the author of a blog (mpd.me) that addresses industry topics and offers guidance to entrepreneurs on how to raise venture capital. Mark is also an occasional contributor to a number of industry news services, including Mashable, CenterNetworks and Silicon Alley Insider and he is frequently cited in the Wall Street Journal.

Mark is also dedicated to building community for entrepreneurs. He started the Columbia Venture Community, a group that serves Columbia University’s student and alumni entrepreneurs, founded the New York Venture Community and advise the NYU Venture Community and the University of Pennsylvania Venture Association. He's also a mentor for TechStars NY. In the past he was an adviser to Duke University’s Global Entrepreneurship Network and a member of the NY Tech Meetup's Community Committee.

Paul Cianciolo

Paul Cianciolo is an Associate at FirstMark Capital, where he leads the firm’s deal sourcing and evaluation team, in addition to focusing on investments within the emerging media & advertising and vertical applications & services sectors. Prior to joining FirstMark, Paul spent a summer as an Analyst at New York City-based investment bank Allen & Company, where he worked in mergers and acquisitions within the sports and media sectors. Paul graduated from Penn State University’s Smeal College of Business with a BS and an MBA in Finance.

David Lerner

Dave is a NY-based entrepreneur and angel investor who runs the startup incubation program at Columbia Technology Ventures and is Resident Venture Advisor to the Lang Entrepreneurship Center at Columbia Business School. Combined, he’s spun-out over 50 companies that have been incubated at the university during his tenure or from his own portfolio.
